Jenny Cruger Workshop | Atlanta Mother and Baby Photographer

Sometime last summer I decided I was in need of some artistic inspiration and urged my friend Amanda with Amanda Gibbs Photography to join me for a photography workshop in Nashville, Tennessee.  Actually, the workshop (and Jenny Cruger’s studio) were in the quaint little town of Franklin…a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta but with even more charm than I could have imagined.  My style has been pretty consistent from the beginning…I love neutrals and I love airy and soft imagery.  However, I knew something was missing and I was hopeful that Jenny’s workshop would help to draw that out of me.  Well, I’m happy to say it did just that and then some.  I left Franklin so inspired and so motivated to continue honing my own personal style and vision and I am so excited to already be connecting with so many sweet families who share that vision.  I took so much away from Jenny’s workshop, but perhaps the biggest “aha” moment I had was shooting this gorgeous sunset mother-baby session in this beautifully lit field.  I am so drawn to the soft, airy feel that backlit images produce and at this session, something just clicked…and I was hooked.  This session probably took 30 minutes to shoot and that was with about 10 other photographers rotating in and out, just letting this “exploration” naturally unfold.  There is something SO special about authentic moments and not forcing it.  I would love to recreate your own version of these moments!
