Rosalyn | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

ByHeather February 9, 2017

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting yet another 8 week old baby and OH MY GOSH was she a beauty!!  She had the daintiest little features…but THAT HAIR.  (Notable…this sweet little peanut was the same size, at nearly two months old, as my son was on the day of his birth.  I will…

journal | puddle jumping

ByHeather February 7, 2017

2.7.17 A rainy day in Atlanta called for a little puddle jumping.  Ahem, well, exactly 2 puddles were jumped in before lightening struck and we were banished indoors the rest of the day.

Parker | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

ByHeather February 7, 2017

I made a little visit to meet Parker when he was 7 weeks old and he was just an angel baby!  Because he was a little bit past that completely sleepy, you-can-do-anything-to-me-and-ill-sleep-through-it phase, we decided to mix a bit of traditional portraiture with some in-home lifestyle shots (check out that dreamy nursery!)  It was such…

Finding my happy place in the sunshine today … h Finding my happy place in the sunshine today … hearing the birds chirping and feeling the warmth on my skin is sooooo necessary after what feels like weeks of staring at a screen. Progress is being made behind the scenes to restore order to my corner of the web … in the meantime I’ve had time to think about and plan what else 2025 has in store for the studio 💡. Stay tuned for launch dates - lots of exciting things coming, including some techy things I get asked about constantly … don’t worry … not website stuff. Clearly can’t claim the pro hat on that one!
Thanks to @stylecloud.co for helping with the refresh 🫶🏼.
And also … slow clap for this gorgeous new fam of five. Welcome to the circus. 🤍
And just like that … it’s time for a new build And just like that … it’s time for a new build! I can’t say I have positive thoughts about it currently, but as they say, most things do happen for a reason. Apologies for the inconvenience if you’re new here, but please know that it’s business as usual at the Crabapple/ Roswell studio and I am just a DM, email, or phone call away 🤍.
Friends, please send your prayers up for this amaz Friends, please send your prayers up for this amazing mama, @kirstin_nessler , and her babies who are hurting like no one ever should. She lost her husband and they lost the best daddy. Aaron was one of the good ones. I have had the honor of getting to know and adore them over the last 7 years; they have supported me for over half of my career and watching them build the most beautiful and loving family has been a beautiful, wild, and always refreshing adventure. I have no doubt that Kirstin will continue to be the badass Supermom that she is to 4 littles under 7, but right now she needs all the love, support, prayers, good vibes she can get … the easiest way for our little pocket of the internet and social circle to do that is via meals (gift cards will be so helpful in the weeks and months to come) as well as financial donations as she picks up the pieces as a working (and grieving) mom.
Thank you for your support and prayers for all who loved Aaron. 💔

Can we be real for a min? It’s 1:29 on Wednesda Can we be real for a min? It’s 1:29 on Wednesday and I’m winding down from “book club” … real moms know ♥️🫠🍷
I’m exhausted. Exhausted from end of year shenanigans, social obligations, catching up from several weeks of necessary (and) fun travel. Work Work that I love but feel pulled away from at every turn. Work that, to be frank, isn’t an option for our family. We love to do all the things and as we all know, fun isn’t cheap. I, like a lot of people, turn to social media to wind down. (As a shadow.) I like it here. It’s quiet. (Not many places in my life are.) But I feel pressured to participate for the sake of my business (that I truly love and have invested so much of my heart and soul into) … it feels like we’re at a crossroads where a platform we have used to share personal milestones and memories has become a place where, as a small business owner, you either prosper or flounder and I’m at a place where I can’t afford to do either and thus I just stall. Who can relate?!
I’m sharing this particular image because this photo was taken by my husband last night of our youngest about 30mins after he had been put to bed. His door was shut and sound machine on but we saw his overhead light turned on thru the cracks. He had turned his light on, put on his own Pokémon hat and laid his Xmas music box by his ear to fall asleep to the sound of carols over white noise. I teared up at the sight because 1) how is this my YOUNGEST baby and 2) how is he so.damn.cute.
I was rejuvenated tonight because I KNOW how important my job is. I know that this photo will forever remind me of not only how little he was, but also, the bedtime routine that got us here.
I know that every weekend I spend watching my kids do something they love is a weekend well-spent. It doesn’t need to be curated, it just needs to be done. Pretty pictures shared in stories; lyfe pics shared here. The real stores are in-between, right?
My big kids get home tonight from what has felt li My big kids get home tonight from what has felt like a revolving door of extended family camps away from home… which has been AMAZING for both them and us, but I can’t wait to squeeze them and have them all back under our roof for a few more days of summer before the regularly scheduled chaos ensues with three kids at three different schools. 2023 school year… let’s do this 💪🏼
