About a month ago, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and documenting the sweetest family of seven, of which Ashton was the first HUMAN baby to join the clan.  Yes, Ashton has four older siblings, all of which are rescued fur-babies.  With every lick and sniff from Ashton’s big brother and sisters, I was in heaven.  It was just the icing on the cake getting to snuggle the sweetest baby boy.

This photo session was especially important to this family, though.  When I arrived, Ashton’s mom introduced me to Tilghman, their three-legged Golden Retriever.  I watched him trot around the house, amazed, and instantly turned into a puddle when he heard Ashton fussing in his pack ‘n play and hopped up to his aide to check on him.  He had such a tender spirit and you could just tell he had a soft spot for the new baby.  Which is exactly why my heart broke into a million pieces when his mom told me he only had a few weeks left to live as his cancer was starting to take over.  I knew it would be important to capture them together and Tilghman made my job easy…he was Ashton’s shadow through the whole session, curling himself around my feet as I worked and coming to the rescue with cold nose kisses when his baby brother made a peep.

I just loved my time with this family.  Ashton is so lucky to be surrounded by so many people (and pups!) that love him, and one super-sweet guardian angel.
