So many times at a newborn session, I have had parents say “Ohhhhh, so that’s how you do it!”  I thought I would show you some pull-back shots that I took at a recent session to take a little bit of the mystery out of how I get those sweet, curled up poses…and shed some light on the fact that yes, your house will work too!

I keep a beanbag in my car for newborn sessions but I have to admit, I haven’t used it since my very first session.  I lean towards natural poses and imagery, so I like to keep things as simple as possible.  Most often, I can find a sofa or (even more often!) a guest bed that I am able to set up on that has the perfect amount of light to illuminate your tiny baby.

So with all the warming, shushing, and fixing of fingers…here is my final vision:
