Last week we took a spontaneous drive up I-20 and ended up at my sweet friend Anna’s home in Charleston. Anna is expecting her first baby (a girl!) in October so it was great catching up and seeing her in all of her pregnancy glow. What was even better was watching her get to know my little girl. While she has seen her every few months in passing, there’s nothing like spending 72 hours with a toddler – they hold nothing back and I think Anna got a great glimpse into our daily lives and what it’s like to live with my girl…tantrums and all 🙂
We spent one full day on the beach and the weather could not have been better…there was just enough cloud coverage to keep it comfortable and plenty of sun to toast our paled skin! Camryn had a blast playing in the sand and running through the tide pools for the first time…and I could have cried watching her. The scene was something out of my dreams…the life “reel” that I’d always pictured and it was happening before my eyes. And I was thankful.
Approaching the sand for the first time…
Realizing how small she is for the first time.
Loving life…as usual.
Playing in the sand for the first time.
If only all of our butts were this cute…the world might be a better place.
Observing the seagulls and yelling “noNO!” at them for squawking loudly and fighting over our lunch scraps.
We spent one more night relaxing like the Charleston folk do and ended the little jaunt over homemade pizzas.
It was perfect.
